Mothers are, by nature, the vessels of Divine Love. Sometimes it’s hard to put into words, but even without words, a mother’s love is felt. It is something that’s universally understood. Beginning in the womb, we learn about love from our mothers. Throughout life, these lessons take on deeper meaning.
Divine Love in Action
Here’s a great quote attributed to St. Therese of Lisieux: “The loveliest masterpiece of the heart of God is the heart of a mother. It is through her that His love first touches us, that His grace first finds us, and that His light first guides us.”
Bonds such as those of our birth mother, grandmother, stepmother, or foster mother are among the closest human bonds we will experience in life. Mothers will fiercely defend their child. Threaten their child, and mothers can become as fierce as any mighty warrior.
Other mother figures, such as Mother Teresa, also offer intense examples of Divine Love in action. Mother Teresa was a Roman Catholic nun who devoted her life to caring for the elderly, the disabled, and the sick, regardless of their religious affiliation. She is often quoted as saying that the poor must be loved. She is known for her work directly with individuals infected with leprosy.
“The greatest disease in the West today is not TB or leprosy; it is being unwanted, unloved, and uncared for. We can cure physical diseases with medicine, but the only cure for loneliness, despair, and hopelessness is love. There are many in the world who are dying for a piece of bread but there are many more dying for a little love. The poverty in the West is a different kind of poverty — it is not only a poverty of loneliness but also of spirituality. There’s a hunger for love, as there is a hunger for God.” – Mother Teresa
Mothers are Vessels for God’s Divine Love.
A mother’s love is capable of overcoming anything. So, what explains this love? Mothers are vessels for God’s Divine Love. As consciousness descends into the physical realm, Divine energy separates into masculine and feminine energy. You’ll find that Divine energy manifests as feminine energy in mothers. Look into the loving eyes of a mother; you’ll see God looking back at you!
The Holy Spirit is the feminine aspect of the Trinity, representing the loving nature of God. This was evident during biblical times in two prominent mothers, Mother Mary, the mother of Jesus, and Mary Magdalene, a distinguished disciple of Jesus.
Mother Mary was deeply immersed in spiritual practice and became saintly, which enabled her to give birth to a master. She was so devoted and pure that her mystic abilities developed to the point of performing miracles. A moment of Divine Love with her husband and God resulted in an immaculate conception – the birth of Jesus, who would become the Christ.
Although the Bible appears clear about the Virgin Mary giving birth to Jesus, like other stories in the Bible, it can be interpreted as symbolic. Think of it as a metaphor for a spiritual virgin – someone so spiritually pure that the veil between the physical and spiritual realms thins to the point that consciousness previously unknown to the world can pass through.
Mother Mary held the consciousness of a Divine Mother, the feminine aspect of God, holding the spiritual spark of all life. This level of consciousness is capable of a divine birth like that of Jesus. Whether she was a physical virgin or not, she was pure in consciousness, which is required to birth a being of Divine Consciousness. Therefore, either way, it was an immaculate conception.
Overcoming Male Dominance
Mother Mary, Father Joseph, Jesus, and John the Baptist were either Essenes or close associates of the Essenes. The evidence can be seen in the spiritual practices and beliefs they shared with the Essences. One, their treatment of women.
The Essences were a mystic group of spiritual outcasts living throughout Judea. They were spiritual separatists, not being involved with temple politics. They considered the temple priesthood illegitimate, instead practicing spiritual purity in their communities, eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Messiah and reestablishment of the true priesthood.
Male dominance was the prevailing social norm at that time, particularly in Jewish culture. However, the Essenes were more accepting of women and their spiritual roles. Jesus, in Divine Love, balanced masculine energy with feminine energy, taking it to a new level by treating women as equals. Jesus broke societal norms by including women in His ministry, defending their dignity, valuing their contributions, and promoting them to important roles.
The Mother of the Christian Faith
The Gospels portray Mary Magdalene as a close disciple of Jesus. Although the Bible downplays her role, Mary Magdalene was there for Jesus when the others weren’t. For example, she was present at the crucifixion with Mary, mother of Jesus, and Mary’s sister. Apart from John, the more devoted and mystical of the Apostles, the others stayed away. Like, during the trial, they were too afraid to be seen with Jesus.
Mary Magdalene attained a remarkably high level of spiritual consciousness. This is rare in the world. On a spiritual level, Jesus and Mary saw things eye to eye, which is why they were so close. Mary offered Jesus emotional and spiritual support, as well as someone to discuss things with on His level. This caused some tension with the Apostles, but it is what it is.
There were times when the Apostles didn’t quite get it, but Mary did and would explain it to them. She possessed an advanced understanding of spiritual matters, including the concept of feminine energy. When needed, she mothered the Apostles, healing their fear and confusion.
Mary Magdalene was at the crucifixion and resurrection. Jesus appeared to her first, instructing her to tell the others, making her the first Christian and the mother of the Christian faith. Although much has been omitted about Mary to diminish her role in early Christianity, what is mentioned is very telling.
In Divine Love, there is No Fear.
A mother’s love conquers fear. In Divine Love, there is no fear.
Salvation is not found in the death of Jesus, but in His love, sacrifice, teachings about soul over matter, and life over death. Similarly, comfort is found in a mother’s love, sacrifice, and teachings.
Therefore, a mother’s love is a manifestation of feminine energy in action; it is a manifestation of Divine Love.
